When the holidays are over, winter should stop as well, don’t you agree?

Don’t get me wrong, I love the cold clear sunny days and cozy evenings in the winter, but just for a certain period of time. So when the calendar says it’s January, I long for spring again. Even though it’s still freezin’ in New York I decided to pick some happy colorful items for this shoot, which takes me to that spring bubble for just a second.
I combined a lot of prints and colors, which I absolutely love. A lot of people are unsure of what to mix and match and easily think it’s overdone when you combine many outstanding items in one outfit. In my believe…. that’s total BS.

When you want more prints or outstanding items in one outfit, you have to think of a few things:
– If you have printed trousers, just like in the pictures below, make sure you have something calm on top of/under it. I really love the design of these trousers from the upcoming fashion webshop Lichali. Not only for the print, but also because of the high waist model. Even though I’m not a shorty, I love it when my legs look even longer. I combined them with this pink top from SheIn, which totally rocks with the ribbed fabric and bell sleeves. The top is actually outstanding with these details, but because of the soft pink color and the plain design it doesn’t look like a circus.
– If you want to combine more than one print, make sure the prints don’t look the same. Combine different prints, like stripes and the animal print below. This makes both prints stand out, especially when the color is different.
– Make sure there is somewhere a calm part in your outfit. You can of course choose to have a printed top and printed shoes. I would recommend then to wear plain trousers. Or when you want to wear a printed top and trousers, keep your shoes simple and the bag as well. This way it won’t be a circus and you still attract the attention to the different outstanding items from your outfit.

Oh and if you just want to add some fun, wear tights with dots like I did. Looks fun and helps against the cold weather ;-).

Hope this helps girls! Let me know what you think.

Love,
T.
