You know that feeling, when you walk into a room and think the place is surreal? Well, that happened to us when we arrived at The Manipura Estate in Ubud, Bali.
We stayed at The Manipura Estate for a few nights. It’s an enormous {read huuuuuuuge, built on 2500sqm land} private villa in Ubud, with rice fields just around the corner. And also good to know; even though it’s surrounded by so many rice fields and palmtrees, central Ubud is really close as well. Tip: one of the most beautiful (and famous) rice terraces -‘Tegalalang’ is only 15 minutes away by bike.

We were really lucky to have the entire villa for ourselves. Even though we didn’t need four bedrooms, it was nice to escape the Seminyak chaos for a weekend and have no other people {besides the lovely staff} around us. We chose the Presidential Suite to crash in cause the balcony view from there was amazing. We even spotted some wild monkeys in the trees! Besides the suite, the whole villa has large open living areas, which is perfect to enjoy the tropical climate.

An extra (shorter) bed for the kids…… ehhhhh… not needed! But looks so so cute!

And then there was this surprise when the staff showed us our own massage area, just next to our bedroom – unbelievable right? We enjoyed it big time!

Because of the rainy season we had some rain during our stay at The Manipura. Ok, that sounds really logical. Missing the emoji with the glasses here – the kinda Nerdy emoji!
Anyway…… in Holland we say ‘ na regen komt zonneschijn’, which literally means ‘the sun will shine after rain has fallen’. Well it did and finally we could enjoy some sun and this amazing infinity pool of 20 meters. They boyfriend did his exercising and me….. yeah, think again. I just like to do some sun bathing on the edge of the pool :-).

One of the best things of this exotic climate is the possibility to have outdoor showers. And I don’t know why, but I’m always so happy when I can shower outside. Maybe because you never know who you will meet ;-). This time it was Mr.Frog – totally chillin’ for hours while I was jumping under the shower from time to time to cool of for a bit.

And if you see a bath like this, you need to get in right? Totally zen, surrounded by these beautiful flowers, reading my book.

My love is always prepared if we are talking about tech stuff. So for some lonely evenings – read: when we don’t want to go out and just cuddling up – we always have some movies prepared to watch. And how comfy is this little cinema in our Presidential Suite?

Back in Holland I’m not a morning person at all, trust me….. But here, I love to wake up early, have an amazing breakfast and enjoy as much as I can every day. And how cute is this breakfast set up at The Manipura? And not only the set up, the breakfast itself is soooooo good. All my fav’ things every day on repeat: coffee, watermelon juice and eggs with toast! Oh and finish with some fresh fruit, YAY!

We really felt at home, thanks to the wonderful staff! We could have extended our stay, but had to move on to our next adventure. But hey, if you ever go to Ubud, Bali – make sure to check out this one!
Love,
T.
