Leather never goes out of style and it can be worn any season, so every girl needs some good basics and original leather items in her closet. I have a lot of leather stuff in mine in so many different colors >> trousers, shorts, skirts, dresses, and not to forget leather jackets.
When I was traveling around the world, I visited many countries, like Vietnam. I love this country, especially Hoi An. It is a small romantic Vietnamese town and is world-renowned for its tailors. It is the place where many travelers stop in for low-priced, tailor-made clothes. The prices are remarkably low and you could be walking away with high-end quality clothes at a fraction of westernized prices.
I had so many ideas and designs in mind for different kind of clothes. But unfortunately I had only one backpack….
I decided to design my own leather jacket. The woman from the tailor shop I chose, spoke quit good English, so it was easy to explain what I had in mind (I thought). We took my measurements and I could do the first fitting two days later. Waaaay to big and not tight at all, so we adjusted the jacket on my body directly. I’m a sucker for details, so we had 5 fittings in total before I was happy with the result. At the 4th fitting I was invited to the working place where two Vietnamese guys were working on my jacket. To be a part of the whole process was such a cool experience.

Carrying the jacket in my backpack for quit a while was more than worth it, cause I can wear it any season. Nowadays I wear it with a sweater and a t-shirt underneath. And not to forget, a big faux fur scarf, like the one in the pictures, to keep me warm.

What do you think of my design? Let me know!
Love,
T.

Hi Tanja!
Super leuke jas zeg!
Have fun, x Tanja
